Our Mission, Vision, and What We Believe
Our mission is to make, train, equip and inspire disciples of Jesus Christ for their part in warning everyone they meet and teaching everyone they can all that they know about Him, so that, if possible, every man may be brought to full maturity in Christ. We do this simply, naturally, effectively and biblically as we go through life ... the way Jesus did.
Our vision is to build real men of God, to teach the blocking and tackling of one-to-one discipleship, and develop the concept of spiritual multiplication all to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What We Believe
Shamgar Discipleship believes:
..... that the Bible, the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are
of supreme and final authority in faith and life;
..... in one God, the Creator, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
..... that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, and that He was and remains true God and true man;
..... That Jesus led a sinless life, took on Himself all the sins of mankind, died on the cross and rose three days later, and is seated at the righthand
of the Father as our Mediator and Advocate;
..... that God created Adam and Eve in the divine image for eternal fellowship, that they sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but
also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that, as a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and stand guilty before
..... that God made salvation possible to all mankind through the Lord Jesus Christ, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all
who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood from crucifixion on the cross;
..... in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there for us as High Priest and
..... in the blessed hope of the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ;
..... that all who by faith receive the Lord Jesus are born again of the Holy Spirit and by grace are saved from eternal damnation in hell;
..... that the Holy Spirit indwells and gives spiritual life to all believers, enables them to understand biblical truth, empowers them for godly living,
and equips them for service and witness;
..... in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost;
..... that we understand and fulfill God's mission through God's Word, prayer and the leadership of the Holy Spirit; and,
..... that the Holy Spirit's power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ's last commandment, that as we go throughout
life we are to evangelize and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
